Wills
A will is one of the more important documents in your lifetime. Many assume that on their death, their estate will automatically pass to their surviving spouse or closest family member, which unfortunately is not always the case.
Having a will allows you to have control over a number of things upon your death including:
- Appointing a trusted person who you wish to administer your Estate
- Directing to whom your assets are to be distributed to
- Appointing a preferred guardian for your children
Powers of Attorney
While a Will comes into effect upon your death, Powers of Attorney operate during your lifetime and allows you to appoint trusted people to make important decisions on your behalf should you either be unable to or lose capacity to do so.

1. Enduring Power of Attorney (Financial) A legal document which allows you to appoint a trusted person to manage your financial and legal affairs during your lifetime. The appointment allows the Attorney to sign any legal documents on your behalf including banking or selling your personal property.
2. Enduring Power of Attorney (Medical Treatment) A legal document which allows you to appoint a trusted person to make decisions about your medical treatment on your behalf, if you are unable to do so.
3. General Power of Attorney Appointing a trusted person to sign on your behalf for a specific task, for example signing a Contract of Sale.
4. Company Power of Attorney Appointing a trusted person, who is not a Director, to sign on behalf of a Company.
5. Guardianship Application The appointment of a person to make decisions for an adult with a disability, when they are unable to do so.
